The Big Preview – King’s Lynn Town

The new National League season starting in October. Still can’t quite get our heads around it. But that’s what’s happening. Well, for now anyway. The world might still implode by the weekend, but as it stands, Stockport County kick off the new campaign at Torquay on Saturday, and we’re carrying on with our season previews by speaking to fans of all the teams County will be facing over the next eight months or so. Today, we speak to Jamie Heaphey, supporter of one of the National League new boys, King’s Lynn Town. What are your thoughts on Stockport County?Having never

The Big Preview – Weymouth

It’s been announced today that the government are going to be supporting National League clubs with an emergency grant to help them kick off the new season this weekend, so it seems Stockport County’s new campaign will be getting underway after all. (Hooray!) Even though we can’t go and watch. (Boo!) We’ve already interviewed supporters of Maidenhead, Sutton, Bromley and Dagenham & Redbridge ahead of the new 2020-21 season, and we continue today by having a quick chat with the Chairman of The Terras Supporters Club, Pete Nash. What are your thoughts on Stockport County?Going to be honest with you

Review: Beat The Frog @ Frog And Bucket – 28/09/20

Most northern comedians you see on TV have all cut their teeth at this famous old club in Manchester’s Northern Quarter at some point. Johnny Vegas and Peter Kay were both regular comperes for the weekend shows back in the day, with the venue featuring in both of their autobiographies. Many more have been regular performers during the early stages of their careers, from Jason Manford and Lee Mack to Ross Noble and Dave Gorman. I think John Bishop’s story is the one I like the most, though. After separating from his wife, he found himself in Manchester one night

The Big Preview – Bromley

To be honest, we don’t know why we’re bothering doing a big preview to the new National League season, in which Stockport County have a realistic chance of ending their decade in the non-league wilderness, and returning to the Football League. It is meant to start on October 3rd. But that will probably be delayed until next February, or 2026 or something. Either that, or football will be completely cancelled, with results decided by online games of noughts and crosses. Until then, however, we crack on as normal. We’ve spoken to fans of all the teams County will be facing

My Stockport: Joel Kennedy

Joel Kennedy, 48, lives in Cheadle and works as a Group Account Director for House Creative, an advertising agency in Macclesfield. Born at Stepping Hill, he has lived in Stockport his whole life, apart from four years at university in Huddersfield, and six months working in Saudi Arabia. Favourite Stockport pub? My favourite boozer in the world is The Church in Cheadle Hulme. In the town centre, I love The Cracked Actor. It’s old, full of charm and quirks and the owner is investing in the town which I love. I really like some other new pubs in the centre
